Book publisher Galaxy Press has released a new edition of the classic pulp-era Mystery, “The Carnival of Death” by New York Times award winning best selling author L. Ron Hubbard. As part of the “Stories from the Golden Age” series, these reissues feature original pulp artwork and illustrations.

Hollywood, CA – January 27, 2011 (via PressReleaseNation.com) — Galaxy Press Publishing has simultaneously released L. Ron Hubbard’s pulp fiction classic The Carnival of Death, as a multi-cast, unabridged, 2 hour audio book and as a fully illustrated novel! Featuring original pulp artwork and illustrations, this latest reissue is part of Galaxy Press’ Stories From the Golden Age collection of books, e-books, and audio books.

Originally written in November of 1934, the story revolves around Bob Clark, an undercover US Treasury agent who, in the course of an investigation at a carnival, stumbles upon a series of headless corpses and now must solve the murders. But a local drug ring and four escaped headhunters have other plans.

The Carnival of Death is part of the famed “Stories from Golden Age,” and is being reprinted in a series of 153 of L. Ron Hubbard’s stories in 80 volumes using original pulp artwork and illustrations. The audio books ( http://www.GoldenAgeStories.com/audiobooks ) are state-of-the-art productions with original music and sound effects that capture the feel of classic radio dramas from the ’30s and ’40s. The full-cast audio version features Jim Meskimen, R.F. Daley, Jason Faunt, Christina Huntington, Lori Jablons and Tait Ruppert. Each production is packed with music and cinema-quality sound effects, putting listeners right into the heart of the story.

Hubbard’s prolific writing career spans over 50 years covering a variety of genres including science fiction, fantasy, mystery, adventure and westerns. A. E Van Vogt was quoted as having once said, “Ron wrote about a million words a year, straight on to the typewriter at incredible speed. My guess was that he typed at about seventy words a minute. It just poured out – I have seen typists working at that speed, but never a writer.”

Previously released Golden Age mysteries, The Chee-Chalker, Brass Keys to Murder and Dead Men Kill, have all been well received by modern readers and have contributed to the sales of over one million copies of Hubbard’s pulp fiction stories.
