Red Frog Beach Rainforest Resort and Marina comes to life in Bocas del Toro Panama

A new Panama Resort features natural amenities in one of Panama’s most unique beach and rainforest destinations on Isla Bastimentos in Bocas del Toro. Two new restaurants, a deep water marina, zip line canopy tour, and luxury villa accommodations are available at this Bocas del Toro Resort.

Bocas del Toro, Panama – May 26, 2010 (PressReleasePivot) — A growing trend in tourism is that travelers are looking for destinations that offer more than just a chance to lounge around on the beach – they want enriching experiences that connect them to the local environment.

The Red Frog Beach Rainforest Resort in Bocas del Toro, Panama not only has some of the top-rated beaches in Central America, but has implemented a resort plan that considers this growing tourism trend that emphasizes “natural” amenities.

Isla Bastimentos, located 30 miles from the border of Costa Rica, is renowned for its stunning beaches and lush rainforest as well as being home to Panama’s national marine park. The activities offered at the resort include: fishing, snorkeling, kayaking, surfing, hiking, bird watching, cave tours, and access to numerous Bocas del Toro surf spots. In addition, Bastimentos Sky Canopy Tour, a new zip line created by one of the top Costa Rica zip line design teams, will open in the summer of 2010. The 2.5 hour elevated tour will include information about the island ecosystem and feature 7 zip lines through the jungle (as high as 250 feet), a Tarzan swing and dramatic rainforest and ocean views.

Oceans Group International, which recently reorganized the resort, has sought to create a vacation destination that offers much more than just great beaches. According to Steven Bolton of Oceans Group International: “We want our guests to experience a Panama Vacation at Red Frog Beach that is unique and meaningful. A wide variety of ocean, beach and jungle amenities at our resort enables guests to connect with Mother Nature in their own personal way.”

Oceans Group International has made a number of changes to the initial resort plan that embrace this vision: the resort includes extensive undeveloped land and natural beaches accessed by footpaths; a tropical garden with over 75 different indigenous fruits and plants graces the marina village entrance; and a resort recycling program is up and running.

Although construction continues at the project, the Red Frog Beach Resort can currently accommodate guests in luxurious villas with private pools that sleep 6 to 10 people for as little as $240 a night. Other accommodations at the resort include a completed surf and jungle hotel/hostel called Bocas Bound that is a perfect place for travelers on a tight budget. Day visitors are also welcome to come and enjoy the water and rainforest activities such as Red Frog Beach and the new zip line. The Red Frog Marina has also opened and is positioned to be a premier destination for the international boating community looking for a Panama Marina in hurricane-free Caribbean waters. There are also two restaurants, an expansive open-air jungle lounge that features a bar, games, hammocks, movie area, and a future beach activity center and surf school.

This Panama Resort is currently welcoming tourists, tour operators, real estate brokers, travel agents, and yachts and sailboats to visit Isla Bastimentos. The resort is also offering Bocas del Toro real estate in the form of titled lots, finished villas, and private jungle lodges.
